The Scandinavian country of Norway encompasses mountains, glaciers and deep coastal fjords. Oslo, the capital, is a city of big green spaces – one of the most well known being Vigelandsparken where you’ll find 200+ sculptures by artist Gustav Vigeland.
The museum scene in Oslo is extremely varied. Preserved ninth-century Viking ships are displayed at Oslo’s Viking Ship Museum, while also in Bygdøy you’ll find The Norwegian Museum of Cultural History and Norwegian Maritime Museum just a short walk away.
Beyond Oslo and the famous fjords – which are well worth a boat trip around – the rest of the country is often a blank map for many visitors. Despite this, outside the city is where you can experience Norway at its most magical.
